OTHER WORLDS Paintings

The title “Other Worlds” refers to a creative process I experience and to what I see in my paintings with that title. I was inspired by the author Orhan Pamuk’s words, “Other worlds are the best consolations,” in reference to his way of living and writing. His observation perfectly describes my internal formation of a creative kernel, which is akin to watching, in my mind, fleeting images of color and film fragments of an unexplored world.
A work of art, for me, can feel immensely satisfying to simply “be” with; it creates its own contained world. Simultaneously, that artwork can invoke real and imagined worlds, forging spaces of possibility.
